Ski Based Pilates

Always blaming bad technique or poor skis on your lack of form when you first hit the slopes for your ski holiday?   Well you are not alone.  However, it is normally a lack of fitness which holds back recreational skiers when they hit the slopes at the start of the season.  

So step forwards - “Prepare to Ski” - a new program in the UK set up by Chartered Physiotherapist & Certified Pilates                 Instructor Emma Bellew who is based at Wimbledon.  Emma spent the 2008/09 Ski season working in Val d’Isere, France & is commencing work with the Bristish Disabled Ski Team. 

“Prepare to Ski” benefits all abilities & begins with a biomechanical assessment to identify key areas where skiers have physiological limitations. These are then addressed through Ski based Pilates exercises to develop Ski specific fitness, core stability & reduce your risk of injury. 

By correcting your physiological limitations & imbalances on dry land you have greater potential to improve your Ski technique & thus improve your Ski performance.
